Vavuniya will forever hold a special place in my heart. Returning over the years has allowed me to build a growing archive of photographs that documents my relationship to the village, my family, and the people who make it feel like home.

My first solo trip to Chennai and Vavuniya in 2023 marked a turning point in my practice. Traveling with my film camera gave me the opportunity to slow down, trust my instincts and become more confident working with film. Since then, I have continued to return with my camera, documenting family, everyday life and the landscapes that have become deeply familiar.

This series is both a personal archive and a reflection on belonging, memory and the quiet connections that continue to shape my understanding of home.
